When I was younger, I dreamed of studying fashion design. I even started blogging back in 2015, because I loved styling and creating. But more than anything, I was always daydreaming about escaping into another world.
When I rediscovered my love for books, everything came together. I wanted clothing that felt like the stories I was reading — magical, otherworldly — but still subtle enough to wear in everyday life. At one point, I even made my own cape for a fantasy-inspired ball (that later got canceled), and that was the spark: how can I create pieces that bring the feeling of fantasy into daily wear?
That’s how Not From This Realm was born. We’re starting with hoodies and t-shirts, but my vision is to eventually expand into full collections with original, fantasy-inspired designs.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Building the website, testing products, shooting photos — often working weekends and 10-hour days — was one of the hardest parts. Doing this alone and for the first time meant learning as I went, but it also made the process all the more meaningful.
This brand wouldn’t exist without the NFTR community. For the past two years, I’ve been creating bookish visuals on Instagram and Patreon, and many of you have asked for tangible, wearable pieces. While I can’t create direct book prints because of copyright, I wanted to design subtle, magical items that let you feel like you’re carrying a piece of your favorite worlds with you.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to explore brighter spring collections, introduce more product types, and eventually develop my own original garments. My hope is that whenever you wear NFTR, you feel just a little bit otherworldly — while still being cozy, confident, and completely yourself.
